People often ask us how nature and adventure became such defining parts of Pony Rider. As if it was a marketing choice. A trend. A rebrand. But the truth is far simpler: it was never an add-on, it was a return.
Our founder, Kelly, didn’t grow up surrounded by interiors or city lights. She grew up outside.
Her mum was a Scout leader, an Akela, which meant the bush was her playground and the campfire was her classroom. While other kids were mastering Nintendo, she was building revolving gates out of twigs and ropes, learning knots before she could spell them, and discovering how imagination expands in the open air.
Adventure wasn’t an activity; it was a language. Nature wasn’t a destination; it was home.
And between the camping trips, the mud, the rope bridges, the endless bush tracks, there were the slopes. Places where Kelly could let loose, feel the wind, chase speed, and taste freedom. These were the moments when connection made sense, when joy found its shape, when being human felt big and full and honest.

So fast forward to the early Pony Rider days, when Kelly began designing textiles and filling a gap she saw in the market: beautiful pieces, natural fibres, soulful stories. Home was the focus. And it still is.
But something was brewing underneath.
The more she learned, the more she created, the more she allowed her own truth to rise… the more nature and adventure pushed to the surface. Not as a trend. Not as a campaign. But as an expression of who she really was and what she wanted the brand to stand for.
A brand that connects home, adventure, and conscious living into one whole story.
A brand for people who crave something more, more meaning, more grounding, more joy, more life. A brand built on the belief that happiness is found in simple rituals, wild experiences and the spaces we create for ourselves.
This is how our three pillars were born:
Made for Home - Warm, grounded textiles with prints and patterns that tell stories – stories inspired by landscapes, symbols and moments from a childhood spent outdoors.
Built for Adventure - Bags, blankets and gear made for movement, mud, mountains and the in-between. The kind of gear that grows with you.
Protect + Connect - A commitment to conscious living, slow production, recycled and natural fibres, and honouring the wild places that shaped us – through The National Project and in everything we make.
Together, they tell the whole truth of Pony Rider:
A home that grounds you. A world that calls you. A community that connects you. And at the centre of it all:
A belief that being human, truly human, has never been more necessary.
