A Place Built With Intention
From the moment we arrived, Sherwood’s quiet dedication to sustainability was hard to miss. What was once a 1980s motor inn is now a soulful retreat, humming with warmth and purpose. Every detail has been considered – from carbon-negative cork walls to upcycled army blankets reborn as curtains. This thoughtful use of natural and repurposed materials aligns with Pony Rider's emphasis on well-made, timeless design that values natural fibres and durability.
Where Adventure Meets Conscious Living
Morning began with a meal straight from the Sherwood garden, fuelling us for the journey ahead. With essentials in tow, we set out into the backcountry of Mount Dewar, where crisp alpine air and endless ridge lines reminded us that adventure and home are deeply connected. It’s a way of life that both Sherwood and Pony Rider hold close.
After two days out in the elements, Sherwood wrapped us back in. Garden beds overflowed with vegetables destined for the dinner table. What’s grown on-site fuels the kitchen – a nod to regenerative practices that don’t just feed people, but replenish the land too. We shared a hearty meal rooted in the seasons, rich with intention, and pulled straight from the earth we’d spent the day walking across.
The following morning, we started the day with slow movement to breathe life back into our trail-tired limbs – yoga in sun-drenched corners, stillness on our yoga gear. Sherwood doesn’t just host guests, it holds space for them. From creative workshops to live music and mindfulness sessions, there’s a spirit of community here that runs deep. It's a space where locals and visitors connect, unwind and create.
A Shared Language of Craft
Every Pony Rider piece settled in naturally – whether it was the Coming Home Blanket or the Mountaineer Throw draped over the bed, each layer brought warmth, texture and character. More than just fitting the space, our products spoke the same language – one of quality, storytelling and intentional craftsmanship.
We left Sherwood not just with beautiful imagery, but with a renewed belief in what we’re building. In the kind of living that prioritises care over convenience. In community. In craft. In moments made around fires and food and open night skies.
Sherwood reminded us that when design meets purpose, the result is more than visual – it’s visceral. It stays with you. Just like a good hike. Just like a well-worn blanket. Just like home.
See you out there, then back by the fire at home.
